Osteopathie Conference 2019
„Unlocking the cranial mechanism… modern insights“

15.-17.11.2019, Urania Berlin e.V.

Pre-Conference-Workshop

Kenneth Lossing DO, FAAO (USA)

The Cranial Approach of Dr Beryl Arbuckle

Dr Arbuckle was one of the earliest students of Dr Sutherland, and was on his teaching staff for many years. She expanded the idea of the “ reciprocal tension membrane“ to include over 20 specific fibers directions which she called “stress bands”. These stress bands limit the direction and amount of distensibility in the RTM.She also looked at the places in the skull where the bone is thicker, and thus less distensible, and called them boney “buttresses”. Together the stress bands and boney buttresses not only greatly expand the model of the movements of the head, but add a level of accuracy and efficiency in treating difficult cranial problems, such as head trauma and childhood neurological cases.

Post-Conference-Workshops

The Intelligence of the Tide

In this workshop, we will explore the evidence for an intelligence that operates the fluctuation of fluid in the body – the “Tide,“ as Sutherland referred to it. We will do lectures and mostly palpatory sessions to learn more about the phenomenon in which the Tide interacts with the operator. We will learn diagnostics using the Tide as the medium. We will also learn some interesting treatments, all using primary respiration. We will explore how the mind of the operator is related to the Tide of the subject. And how influences from outside the patient determine patterns of dysfunction.

Highly recommended: For our course „Trauma, Emotions, Bifocal Integration® and Osteopathy“ we recommend the audio CD „Grounding Waves – A relaxing touch with the inner being“ by Torsten Liem. For the first time, wonderfully composed music, bilateral stimulation, increase in alpha wave activity, and enhancement of heart rate variability were combined to support stress release and integration.

Torsten Liem – Grounding Waves

The music promotes relaxation, harmonization and resource activation and is a valuable tool for breathing exercises and in trauma therapy. Or it can simply be enjoyed for a few moments of comfort or relaxation.

„Grounding Waves – A relaxing touch with the inner being“ by Torsten Liem is available as an audio CD, MP3 and streamed on Amazon.
